Conference USA: Memphis Makes Case for No. 1 Seed

(1) Memphis 74, (5) Houston 49

No. 1 Memphis continued to roll through Conference USA with a 74-49 win against No. 5 Houston. A day after struggling against Tulane, the Tigers returned to form by holding the Cougars to 34 percent shooting and out-rebounding them 46-21. Senior forward Robert Dozier led Memphis with 16 points and seven rebounds, and senior guard Antonio Anderson had eight points, nine rebounds and five assists.

(2) Tulsa 70, (3) UAB 67

No. 2 Tulsa used a 12-0 run in the first half to erase a slow start, the Golden Hurricane never relinquished the lead in a 70-67 win against No. 3 UAB. The Blazers came as close as one point with less than a minute to go after junior forward Howard Crwaford hit two free throws. Sophomore guard Glenn Andrews ansered with a jumper at the other end, and Tulsa made 4-of-6 free throws to preserve the win. The Golden Hurricane will try to stop Memphis, which whacked Tulsa 63-37 in February.
