No. 6 Texas-San Antonio appears determined to protect its Southland Conference title, beating No. 2 Nicholls State 57-55 for its second upset in two days. Senior guard Joey Shank led the Roadrunners with 19 points, all of which came after halftime. He hit a three-pointer with less than a minute to go to put Texas-San Antonio up by four, and the Roadrunners held off Nicholls State by making enough foul shots.

No. 1 Stephen F. Austin held off No. 4 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 63-60 to advance to the Southland title game against Texas-San Antonio. Matt Kingsley was unstoppable for the Lumberjacks with 26 points. Stephen F. Austin made enough free throws in the final seconds to hold off the Islanders.
