No. 6 Syracuse finally ran out of gas in a 76-66 loss to No. 1 Louisville after playing three games, including two that featured a combined seven overtimes. Louisville’s pressure defense caused Syracuse to wilt in the second half after the Orange led by eight at halftime. Freshman forward Samardo Samuels led the Cardinals with 15 points, and junior swingman Earl Clark had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Syracuse’s Jonny Flynn finally showed signs of fatigue after breaking the record for total number of minutes played in a Big East Conference Tournament.
