SEC: Bulldogs Come Closer to Automatic Bid

(W3) Mississippi State 67, (W1) LSU 57

Jarvis Varnado was a difference-make and both ends of the court in the No. W3 Bulldogs’ 67-57 win against No. W1 LSU. Varnado had 19 points, seven rebounds and seven blocks to led Mississippi State. Both teams played solid defense, but the Bulldogs outworked LSU to get to the free throw line, where they held a 24-9 scoring advantage. Mississippi State likely needs to win the SEC’s automatic bid to reach the NCAA Tournament.

(E1) Tennessee 94, (W2) Auburn 85

No. E1 Tennessee will face Mississippi State in the championship game after the Volunteers beat No. W2 Auburn 94-85. The Tigers could not stop Wayne Chism, who had 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting. Chism also had nine rebounds as the Volunteers out-worked Auburn on the glass for 40 rebounds.
