No. 1 Alabama State held No. 2 Jackson State without a field goal for seven minutes late in the second half to claim a 65-58 SWAC championship. Senior guard Andrew Hayles led the Hornets with 17 points, and junior forward Wesley Jones had 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Jackson State’s shooting percentage plummeted in the second half, and the Tigers ended at 37 percent from the field.
