Making its first NCAA Tournament in 25 years, No. 16 Morehead State will play at least one more game after beating No. 16 Alabama State 58-43. Sophomore forward Kenneth Faried had one of the best rebounding games in NCAA Tournament history, collecting 21 boards in addition to his 14 points. Both teams struggled to shoot, creating lots of opportunities for Faried. As a team, the Eagles out-rebounded the Hornets 47-26. The reward for Morehead State’s victory in the opening round is a date with No. 1 Louisville Friday. The Cardinals ousted the Eagles from the NCAA Tournament in 1984 in the Eagles’ last appearance.
