Memphis: Evans Predictably Leaves for NBA

Like last season, Memphis will once again look to replace its starting freshman point guard as Tyreke Evans announced that he will enter the NBA Draft. In 2008, the Tigers lost Derrick Rose after he helped lead Memphis to the national championship game. Evans is projected to be a lottery pick in the draft after he averaged 17.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game this past season. Evans’ departure is not a shock because he was considered to be one of the top scoring point guards in his recruiting class, and John Calipari’s move to Kentucky might have cemented Evans’ inclination to turn to the NBA.
