Butler coach Brad Stevens received a contract extension from the Bulldogs that will keep him on Butler’s sidelines through 2015-16. Stevens became the Bulldogs’ coach in 2007 and, at 31, became the third youngest coach in NCAA history to lead his team to at least 30 wins in a season. A university press release highlights some of Stevens’ other achievements.
The 2009 conference coach of the year, Stevens led the Bulldogs to their third-straight regular season title in 2008-09, guiding the squad to a 26-6 overall record and the program’s third-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Butler posted a school- and league-record 30-4 mark in his initial season in 2007-08, including a school-record 16 victories in conference play.
