Mississippi: Huertas Returns to Puerto Rico

Mississippi junior guard David Huertas announced that he has decided to leave the Rebels to return to Puerto Rico to play professionally. He will join the Quebradillas Pirates of the Superior National Basketball League after completing his second full season with the Rebels. He averaged 18.1 points per game for the Rebels. Huertas arrived in Oxford after spending one season at Florida. In a university press release, Huertas said he is ready for the responsibilities of professional basketball and wants to be closer to his family.

“I want to thank all my coaches and everyone at Ole Miss for the best three years of my life,” Huertas said. “After four years in college, I am ready to move into my life as an adult and be able to keep playing basketball and be with my family at the same time.”
