West Virginia freshman forward Devin Ebanks, one of the top recruits entering college this past season, announced that he will return to the Mountaineers. Ebanks averaged 10.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for West Virginia. The Sporting News reports that West Virginia promises to have one of the most talented teams in the Big East.
Ebanks’ return to West Virginia means the Mountaineers will have back eight of the top nine players from last season’s rotation along with point guard Joe Mazzulla, who was injured and lost for the season in December. As presently constituted, they will be one of the top contenders in the Big East and are likely to be ranked as a top 25 team when the Sporting News College Basketball yearbook is published in October.
