Xavier announced that assistant coach Chris Mack will become the Musketeers’ head coach. A formal press conference will introduce Mack as head coach Wednesday. A former Musketeer captain, Mack has deep roots with Xavier. He entered the Division I coaching ranks as director of basketball operations at Xavier, and he followed Skip Prosser to Wake Forest in 2001. In 2004, Mack returned to join former coach Sean Miller’s staff. During the past five years on Miller’s staff, Mack has helped make the Musketeers a regular favorite in the Atlantic 10. He will replace Miller, who left Cincinnati to head to the desert and the Arizona Wildcats.
