Connecticut freshman forward Ater Majok, who is ineligible to play until the end of the upcoming fall semester, has declared for the NBA Draft. Majok does not plan to hire an agent, which means he can return to school. Majok arrived in Storrs as former Sudan refugee who became a citizen of Australia through a United Nations program. He was a controversial recruit because of a link to former Huskies student manager Josh Nochimson, who was tied to Nate Miles. Connecticut kicked out Miles before the season started, but the NCAA has identified possible violations during Miles’ recruitment because of improper contact among Nochimson, Miles and Husky coaches. Nochimson might have also brokered meeting between Majok and Connecticut coaches, potentially violating NCAA rules.
