BYU junior forward Jonathan Tavernari and Tennessee junior forward Tyler Smith announced that they will enter the NBA Draft.
NCAA: Draft Rules Change
The NCAA’s legislative committee enacted a rule that will give players less time to decide to remain in the NBA Draft or return to school. The panel changed the deadline from mid-June to May 8, effective in 2010.
North Dakota: One Step Closer to Keeping Sioux Nickname
A North Dakota Sioux tribe voted in favor of the North Dakota Fighting Sioux nickname and logo. North Dakota must prove that the state’s resident Sioux tribes do not disapprove of the university’s Fighting Sioux nickname and Indian head logo before the NCAA will remove the school’s teams from the list of hostile and abusive nicknames.
Kansas State: One Wildcat Transfers, Another Faces Legal Trouble
Kansas State sophomore forward Ron Anderson will leave the Wildcats to transfer to another team. He averaged 5.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, junior forward Curtis Kelly was arrested for failing to appear in court for warrants related to unpaid traffic violations. Kelly sat out this past season after transferring to the Wildcats from Connecticut.
Arkansas: Moore Leaves Razorbacks
Arkansas freshman forward Brandon Moore announced that he will leave the Razorbacks after his freshman year. Moore averaged 1.9 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

Although the 2008-09 season finished less than three weeks ago, teams are booking their schedules for next season, and networks are promoting made-for-TV match ups like the SEC/Big East Challenge and ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Villanova: Wildcats Hero Enters Draft
Villanova junior guard Scottie Reynolds has decided to enter the NBA Draft and gather information about his status. He will not hire an agent, which means that if he does not like the feedback from scouts, he can return to school. Reynolds averaged 15.2 points per game, and no points were bigger than his last-second, full-court drive against Pittsburgh in the Elite Eight.
Washington State: Bone Brings Allen to Cougars’ Staff
New Washington State coach Ken Bone has hired Curtis Allen as an assistant coach. Allen worked with Bone at Portland State for the past four seasons.
Purdue: Jackson Pleads Guilty to Alcohol Consumption
Purdue freshman guard Lewis Jackson pleaded guilty to illegal alcohol consumption and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was arrested during a traffic stop April 12. Jackson averaged 5.9 points and 3.3 assists per game.
