Despite projections that have him going as high as No. 3 in this year’s NBA Draft, Georgetown freshman center Greg Monroe will return to the Hoyas next season. Although Georgetown struggled this past season, Monroe showed plenty of potential in averaging 12.7 points and 6.5 rebound per game.

Gonzaga: Daye Seeks Scouts’ Feedback
Gonzaga sophomore forward Austin Daye announced that he will test the NBA Draft process this spring. Daye will not hire an agent, so he will still have two years of remaining eligibility. One of Gonzaga’s most athletic players, Daye averaged 12.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.
Georgetown: Reserve Wattad to Leave Hoyas
Sophomore guard Omar Wattad announced that he will transfer from Georgetown at the end of the semester. Wattad came off the bench for the Hoyas to average 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 11.1 minutes per game.
Arizona: Miller Brings 2 Xavier Assistants With Him
New Arizona head coach Sean Miller has hired two assistant coaches who worked with him at Xavier, James Whitford and Emanuel Richardson.

Florida International: Golden Panthers Nab Hall of Famer Thomas
Florida International has hired Isiah Thomas to be the Golden Panthers’ next coach. Thomas is a member of the basketball Hall of Fame as a national and world champion. He played for Indiana and won the 1981 championship while learning from Division I’s leader in career coaching victories, Bob Knight.
Xavier: Mack Takes Over as Musketeers’ Head Coach
Xavier announced that assistant coach Chris Mack will become the Musketeers’ head coach. A formal press conference will introduce Mack as head coach Wednesday. A former Musketeer captain, Mack has deep roots with Xavier.
Connecticut: Thabeet Declares for Draft
Connecticut junior center Hasheem Thabeet has entered the NBA Draft and intends to sign an agent, meaning that he will not return to Storrs. Thabeet averaged 13.6 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4.2 blocks per game.
DePaul: Tucker Declares for Draft
DePaul sophomore swingman Dar Tucker announced that he will enter the NBA Draft and hire an agent, which means he will be ineligible to return to the Blue Demons. Tucker led DePaul with 18.5 points per game.
Kansas: Jayhawks Look Ready for Another Title Run
Junior point guard Sherron Collins and sophomore center Cole Aldrich announced that they will return to Kansas, making the Jayhawks a solid favorite to win their second championship in three seasons. Collins averaged 18.9 points and 5.0 assists per game, and Aldrich added 14.9 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.
