Davidson coach Bob McKillop hired Landry Kosmalski as an assistant coach, giving Kosmalski a second tour of duty on the Wildcats’ bench. He worked with McKillop from 2004 to 2006 and helped guide the team to a 43-20 record during that stretch. Kosmalski has worked at the Webb School in Tennessee for the past two years. A university press release notes some of Kosmalski’s other achievements.
“It’s going to be special to be reunited with Coach McKillop and go back to my alma mater,” Kosmalski said. “It’s a great opportunity. Having experienced life as a Davidson student-athlete, I have a strong understanding of what the team has to go through day in and day out.”
Kosmalski was the Wildcats’ marquee player during his four years, helping Davidson to a Southern Conference championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament during his sophomore season. For his career, the power forward averaged almost 13 points per game, as well as nearly eight rebounds a contest. Kosmalski ranks third all-time on Davidson’s rebounding charts with 877, 13th in scoring with 1,438 points and tied for 10th in steals (121).
