Former SMU coach Jimmy Tubbs, 60, died May 5. The school did not announce a cause of death. Tubbs was the Mustangs’ coach for two seasons and had a 27-30 record before he was fired when the university discovered violations during an internal investigation. Tubbs previously worked for Kelvin Sampson at Oklahoma after working on the Mustangs’ staff as an assistant for 11 years.
