Colorado State has added former Iowa State freshman guard Wes Eikmeier to the roster. Eikmeier averaged 2.9 points per game in his one season with the Cyclones. Eikmeier was a dominant high school player in Nebraska, according to a Colorado State press release.
Eikmeier was a two-time Gatorade Nebraska Player of the Year in 2007 and 2008 at Archbishop Bergan High School in Fremont, Neb. During his senior season, he averaged 31.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.1 assists while leading the Knights to a perfect 27-0 season and a Class D-1 state title. He also led the state in scoring and finished his career with 2,193 points, which ranks eighth all-time in state history.
Eikmeier had several memorable performances for the Knights including a 43-point performance in the state title game and a career high 59-point outburst, including 10 three-pointers against North Bend.
