Maine associate coach Mike Burden has resigned after he was charged with unlawful sexual assault of a 21-year-old member of the women’s soccer team and assault of another woman who tried to help the soccer player. The incident occurred early May 10 while Burden was walking home after the driver of the car he was in was arrested for drunken driving. The university placed Burden on paid administrative leave the day before he resigned.
