Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun fell while riding in the Jim Calhoun Cancer Challenge Ride Saturday, breaking five ribs, then collapsed after completing the race, according to the Associated Press. Calhoun hit a pothole and fell about 35 miles into the ride. After he collapsed at the finish line, he was taken to a hospital and stayed overnight for observation. He was fine and left the hospital Sunday. A team spokesman said the heat and dehydration led to Calhoun’s collapse.
