Tulsa coach Doug Wojcik has agreed to a two-year extension from his original contract and will stay with the Golden Hurricanes through the 2014-15 season, according to a university release.
Wojcik, who’s gone 81-53 overall in four seasons at Tulsa, went 25-14 in 2008 and won the College Basketball Invitational title. In 2009, his Golden Hurricanes again won 25 games and took part in the National Invitational Tournament.
Wojcik ranks sixth on Tulsa’s list for all-time coaching wins.
“Doug has done a tremendous job with our basketball program,” Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham said. “He is an outstanding coach and has posted over 20 wins in each of the last three seasons, but what is just as important is that the Tulsa basketball team is comprised of outstanding students who have committed themselves to academic, athletic and personal growth development.”
