Villanova has suspended senior guard Reggie Redding until the end of the first semester, according to FOX Sports.com’s Jeff Goodman. The university’s disciplinary committee imposed the penalty, adding that Redding may remain in school to attend classes.
Redding averaged 7.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game for the Wildcats last season and figures to be one of the veteran leaders on a Villanova team favored to compete for the Big East title. He could be eligible to play starting with the Wildcats’ Dec. 19 game against Fordham.
