Looking to build on the team’s NIT championship last season, Penn State has signed coach Ed DeChellis for another three years, keeping him in University Park through 2014, according to a university release.
With DeChellis guiding the Nittany Lions to a 10-8 Big Ten record last sesaon, fans filled the Jordan Center in greater numbers than any season since 2002, the year after Penn State reached the Sweet 16. DeChellis hopes that last season’s success will lead to an even more successful season this year, including greater support from the fans.
“We are proud of what we have accomplished thus far and are focused on more goals ahead. I’m excited about the players and coaches we have and the facility improvements we have made over the last few years. We have a program that will continue to be nationally competitive and fun and exciting to watch.”
