Minnesota freshman forward Royce White is a suspect in a theft of a laptop from a campus dormitory, according to an Associated Press report.
Coach Tubby Smith previously suspended White after he was arrested and charged with theft and assault after he tried to steal clothing worth $100 and shoved a security guard at the Mall of America. White will appear in court Nov. 17 to be arraigned for those charges.
Smith said White is suspended for at least the Golden Gophers’ first game against Tennessee Tech tonight. White also missed the team’s two exhibition games.
The laptop theft occurred Saturday evening at Territorial Hall, and police are reviewing surveillance tape and interviewing people who work or live in the dorm.
