Duquesne swingman Melquan Bolding was scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday to fix a fracture right wrist, according to a university release. Doctors planned to insert a screw during the surgery. His recovery time is estimated to last from four to six weeks.
Bolding was injured four minutes into Duquesne’s 85-62 season-opening win against Nicholls State Nov. 13 but continued to play and scored a game-high 25 points. An X-ray later revealed the injury’s severity.
Bolding, a sophomore, is Duquesne’s third leading returning scorer.
