Iowa coach Todd Lickliter is out of the hospital after having surgery to relieve headaches caused by a partial tear in his carotid artery, according to ESPN.com news services.
Lickliter missed the Hawkeyes past two games and will probably be out for Iowa’s Friday match up against Iowa State. Iowa lost at Northern Iowa Tuesday.
“The doctors have said I probably need this week to try to recover, it’s been pretty stressful,” Lickliter said in a statement. “I love the game, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to coach basketball and to be the head coach at Iowa. But at the same time, your health has to take precedent over everything.”
