As their roster was taking shape in the spring, expectations became high once again for South Kent. It was not without reason, as this team has interchangeable parts in the frontcourt and a pair of point guards who should make this team a contender.

Quinn Ready to Develop More Players at St. Thomas More
It’s been the case in recent years that Jere Quinn’s teams at St. Thomas More have featured a couple of well-known players and a number of players that were at best under the radar. Those in the latter category come to Oakdale and develop under his tutelage, complementing the better talents. It looks like that same formula will be present this season.
Reilly Likes His Team at Worcester
Worcester Academy is competing with a different group of schools in the newly-aligned NEPSAC. But Ed Reilly has another team he likes, and it looks like one with a little more talent than some of the recent Hilltopper teams.
Attempting Another Title, Tilton Has Youth, But Experience as Well
Our prep school tour began on Saturday with a trip to a school that has done a lot of winning lately. NEPSAC will have a new look this season, but the last three Class B titles were won by the Tilton School, and in 2009 they also took home a national championship. This year’s team has a lot of underclassmen, but they are more experienced than that might suggest.
Big East Does Well to Preserve Double Bye in Tournament
It looked like the Big East Tournament might have a change in format, but that will not happen now after athletic directors and the board of directors opted to keep the current format. That’s a good thing.
