Every season, a lot of good players fly under the radar for one reason other another – either in a small conference, on a team with another star or on a struggling team in a major conference. Here is a look at some of the players who best fit that description in college basketball.
A trip to New Hampshire meant a chance to check out some of Sunday’s action at the Northeast Exposure Showcase Championships run by BST Hoops.
Towson opens a new arena this year, and the CAA Tournament will now be in nearby Baltimore. Add in being picked to win the CAA based on their personnel, and it looks more and more like a lot is coming together for the program.
CAA Media Day had a new destination this year, and the tournament will as well right around the corner. It’s a changing conference in a changing world, and one whose place in college basketball is uncertain.
Although more known for academics, the Brooks School has a team worth watching as they have quietly been a consistent contender in NEPSAC Class B. If their more talented younger players come through, they will be in the mix again.
Tabor Academy lost their best player, which in Class A can mean trouble. But they feel they can contend this season, and their personnel suggests that as well.
George Mason is the new kid on the block in the Atlantic 10 this year. There are obvious advantages at first glance, but there are some less obvious pluses for the program as well.
Milton Academy’s recent emergence should continue this season, built around Princeton commit Alec Brennan. They have a lot of guards who can help complement him, and need a few to emerge from the pack.
After a tough year last season with a less experienced group, Charlestown is hoping to rebound with a season more like what they have come to expect at the Boston powerhouse.
