Friday night wasn’t quite the snoozer this time around, with a few close ones on tap. One conference has a lot of teams tied for first place. That, plus changes to the NIT, a couple of Longhorns banged up and a Buckeye suspended at least a little longer.

We’re going to learn more about George Washington
George Washington is in the midst of a key stretch against some of the Atlantic 10’s other top teams. They started with two road losses, but we’ll learn something about this team in the next few games as they try to bounce back.

One can’t help but be sad for Virginia Commonwealth senior guard Briante Weber, the walking symbol of Havoc whose college career is over after he tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus Saturday in the Rams’ surprising 64-55 loss to city rival Richmond.
