Talking Hoops with Ted Sarandis – March 11, 2016

Welcome to the latest edition of Talking Hoops with Ted Sarandis. It is our special Championship Week edition, where we talk about a stretch that has not disappointed given the way the regular season went.

In this edition, we touch on action at the Big East Tournament, where Ted has been the past couple of days. He saw the impressive performance by Xavier, as well as Villanova in the second half of their win, while Providence won and gets a third try at the Wildcats after splitting with them during the regular season. We also touch on how a number of teams have managed to beat another team three times this season.

After that, we look at an old Big East program that once again has to hire a new coach. Rutgers fired Eddie Jordan, a move that was much talked about in New York, and the school is clearly at a crossroads. Which direction do they go? It may be time to go completely outside the box and not even consider who the conventional wisdom would dictate, especially now that they are in the Big Ten.

Lastly, we briefly touch on the most unpredictable conference champion thus far, Holy Cross in the Patriot League. The Crusaders simply made a remarkable run to take home the title and return to the NCAA Tournament.
