Talking Hoops With Ted Sarandis – March 31, 2019

Welcome to the latest edition of Talking Hoops With Ted Sarandis. Two of the Final Four teams have been determined, with two more to go.

We start with the second game of the night, which Ted covered in Louisville, and it will be one to talk about for a while. Virginia and Purdue played a dandy that needed overtime to decide, with the feel of a big game all along. You felt it especially in the second half as the teams traded big plays and as Carsen Edwards put forth a performance for the ages, and you felt it as Virginia found a way to send the game to overtime and then pull it out in the extra session.

In the first regional final, Texas Tech and Gonzaga were in a close one for about 37 minutes, a game played within a nine-point window. Then the Red Raiders opened up a little breathing room, but not for long, before finally sealing it on a tough play for a senior who has meant so much to Gonzaga.

It’s the culmination to this point of an incredible story. Many teams like Texas Tech would be rebuilding if they lost as much as the Red Raiders did from last season, as they don’t bring in multiple McDonald’s All-Americans to replenish that talent. They instead have Chris Beard, who has masterfully architected this team and then coached them to this success.

We hope you enjoy the podcast and share it with your fellow college basketball fans. Be sure to tune in again soon for College Basketball Tonight, which will break down the Final Four teams and more with special guests on Sunday night.
