Nevada coach David Carter has dismissed forward Ayharo Phillips after the freshman was arrested and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon on school property April 15. Phillips averaged 2.1 points and 2.7 rebounds in 9.0 minutes per game.

Kansas: Little Has Surgery to Help Healing
Kansas guard Mario Little had surgery to insert a rod in his left leg to help Little recover from a stress fracture. Little initially injured the leg early in the season and missed most of the the team’s non-conference schedule.

VCU: Rams Attract Successful D-III Coach
New VCU head coach Shaka Smart has hired Mike Rhoades to join his staff as an assistant coach. Rhoades was 197-76 in 10 seasons as head coach at Randolph-Macon a Division III school in Virginia.
UCLA: Freshman Bruin Has Knee Surgery
UCLA freshman center J’mison Morgan had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and will need about six weeks to recover. Morgan averaged 2.3 points and 1.0 rebounds per game and played in 21 games.
Notre Dame: Harangody Looks to Go Pro
Notre Dame junior forward Luke Harangody has entered the NBA Draft, and he hopes to remain in the draft even though he won’t hire an agent. Harangody is projected to be a second-round pick, though he could become a late first-round pick if he impresses scouts during the next two months.
Oklahoma: Warren Stays Put
Oklahoma won’t have to replace both of its leading scorers after freshman guard Willie Warren decided to return to the Sooners rather than enter the NBA Draft. NBA scouts have projected Warren as a possible lottery pick after the freshman averaged 14.6 points and 3.1 assists.
Seattle: Redhawks Pick Dollar to Lead Team Through D-I Transition
Seattle has hired Washington assistant coach Cameron Dollar to become the Redhawks’ head coach. Dollar leaves Lorenzo Romar’s staff after working with the Huskies’ coach since 1999 when Romar was St. Louis’ coach.
Kentucky: Calipari Signs Highly Regarded Recruit
Before leaving Memphis for Kentucky, coach John Calipari had recruited one of the best classes in the country, including Xavier Henry and DeMarcus Cousins. The latter has decided to follow Calipari to Kentucky. Rivals.com rates Cousins as a top five recruit, and he averaged 26 points and 12 rebounds per game in his senior season.
Indiana State: Kelly Lands With Sycamores
Sophomore guard Jake Kelly, Iowa’s leading scorer this past season, announced that he will transfer to Indiana State. Kelly averaged 11.6 points per game for the Hawkeyes.
