Kentucky junior guard Michael Porter announced that he is leaving the Wildcats to focus on other priorities. He said he is married and will have a daughter in the near future.
Michigan State: Lucious and Allen to Have Surgery
Michigan State guards Korie Lucious and Chris Allen battled through foot injuries that will require surgery within the next week. Both players are expected to recover in about two months.
Northern Arizona: Adras Gets Three More Years
Northern Arizona has extended the contract of coach Mike Adras three more years, keeping the Lumberjacks’ coach in Flagstaff through 2012.
Kansas: Two Jayhawks Flew the Coop
Kansas junior guard Tyrone Appleton and freshman forward Quintrell Thomas announced that they will transfer to different teams. Both players are searching for more playing time with another team.
Liberty: Flames Bring Layer Back to Bench
Liberty has hired Marquette assistant coach Dale Layer to replace Ritchie McKay as Liberty’s coach. Layer had worked on McKay’s staff with the Flames during the 2007-08 season before moving to Marquette this past season.

Siena has extended the contract of coach Fran McCaffery for six years, giving him an eight-year contract. With the Saints’ success in the past two seasons, McCaffery has become one of the top mid-major coaches mentioned for other jobs.

Sophomore guard Jeff Teague will leave open the possibility of a return to the Demon Deacons by not hiring an agent. Teague averaged 18.8 points and 3.5 assists per game.
