Cushing Academy broke through last season to win the NEPSAC Class AA title. This year, their perimeter trio will give them a good chance at winning another one.

Notre Dame Prep coach Ryan Hurd likes having a team loaded with guards so he can more easily push the pace, and that’s what he has. It’s one reason he seems excited to coach them.

Proctor Academy probably won’t be high on many people’s contender lists this season. But with a couple of young players that have potential, they might get there in another year or two.

Brimmer and May has some talent, but it has to grow for them to make noise this year. They have enough talent to do it, and if some of the growth comes sooner rather than later they can be players in the very competitive NEPSAC Class AA.

New Hampton should contend in NEPSAC Class AAA thanks to a nice combination of size, talent and experience, including a very talented young player at the most important position.

Last season was a banner year on the hardwood for Phillips Exeter, known much more for academics than athletics. This year will be different in a few ways, but a few key things will stay the same as well.

We’ll get the obligatory description out of the way: Brewster Academy has lots of talent. But they also have some complementary pieces who could really emerge and be difference-makers for this team.

Marianapolis Prep will look to improve upon last season’s Class AA quarterfinal appearance. They will field a very competitive team, and there will be competition from within as well.

Jere Quinn’s teams at St. Thomas More are always well worth watching, and this year is no different. They have a lot going for them, including a very intriguing prospect.
