March to Madness 9.0: Year of the Dragon approaches
I recently bemoaned that Drexel’s loss to VCU in the CAA title game would relegate the Dragons to the NIT, with some barely deserving major conference team squeezing into the NCAA Tournament with 12 or 13 losses. Not so fast. After a day of madness and general lackluster performances by […]
Not a season to remember for Wake Forest
Although it wasn’t quite as bad as last season, this was hardly one for the books for Wake Forest. After an 82-60 blowout loss against Maryland on Thursday, the Demon Deacons finished 13-18 overall. That doesn’t seem so bad, and a few teams had worse records, but look deeper and you see a team that, quite simply, was not good.

Young players could take a lesson from Kent Bazemore
Old Dominion’s Kent Bazemore is someone young basketball players could stand to learn from. It’s been enjoyable to watch him go from a player who needed to redshirt as a freshman to one of the CAA’s best players.
Idaho State interim head coach Deane Martin will not have his tag taken off
We’ve mentioned this before – what Deane Martin did for the Idaho State University Bengals basketball program. Long story short, a 3-13 record became third place in the Big Sky and ultimately fourth in a season everyone picked them to be dead last. Now comes word that Martin won’t be […]
The Big Sky Championships: who’s gonna win
This is what the head honchos wrote on Monday: Big Sky (March 3) Top seed: Montana. The Big Sky regular-season championship came down to the final game, in which the Grizzlies avenged their only loss in Big Sky play by beating Weber State in Missoula. Tournament stakes: Although Weber State […]
