Davidson is the last official participant announced for this year’s Charleston Classic, which will take place Nov. 19-22. In the first Charleston Classic this past season, Clemson defeated Temple for the tournament championship.
Illinois: Officials Reward Weber’s Success
Illinois coach Bruce Weber received a pay raise and contract extension after leading the Illini to the NCAA Tournament last season. In six seasons with the Illini, Weber has a 152-57 record and has taken the team to the NCAA Tournament five times.
Connecticut: Hamilton Sues Embroiled Husky Associate
Former Connecticut star Richard Hamilton, now a key member of the Detroit Pistons, is suing a former associate, Josh Nochimson, for $1 million in theft. Nochimson is a central figure in the ongoing recruiting investigation at Connecticut.
Tennessee: Ramar Smith Charged With Aggravated Robbery
Former Tennessee guard Ramar Smith turned himself in to police and was charged with aggravated robbery. Smith averaged 7.4 points and 3.2 assists per game for the Volunteers in 2007-08.
BYU: Tavernari Returns to Cougars
BYU junior forward Jonathan Tavernari has decided to withdraw his name from the NBA Draft to return to the Cougars for his senior season. Tavernari averaged 15.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
TCU: Christian Adds to Staff
TCU coach Jim Christian has promoted Eric Haut from director of basketball operations to assistant coach and hired Cody Hopkins to fill Haut’s position.
Hartford: Eagles Add Former Virginia Staff Member
Hartford coach Dan Leibovitz has hired Rick Brunson as an assistant coach. Brunson was director of basketball of operations at Virginia for the past two seasons.

No. 3 Missouri denied No. 9 Baylor a miraculous run to the Big 12 title with a 73-60 win. DeMarre Carroll led the Tigers to the victory with a 20-point, nine-rebound performance.
