UNC-Wilmington Assistant Becomes Head Coach At Eastern Washington: Kirk Earlywine, an NCAA Division I assistant coach for 22 years, most recently at UNC-Wilmington, has taken the head coaching position at Eastern Washington. He succeeds Mike Burns, who coached the team for three years. Earlywine’s contract is a three-year deal. [6/16/07]

Knee Cartilage Tear Will Sideline Louisville’s Caracter: Derrick Caracter, a sophomore forward for Louisville, tore cartilage in his left knee while playing in a pickup game. The tear is small one, but Caracter will be out of action for four to six weeks. [6/15/07]
