Duke senior guard Greg Paulus has decided to attend Syracuse to play football for the Orange. His eligibility in basketball expired after this past season, but he can play one more season in another sport.

Former Florida freshman forward Allan Chaney has decided to transfer to Virginia Tech. Chaney is from Baltimore and wanted to play for a school closer to home.

New Orleans has dismissed junior guard Darrian McKinstry for violating team rules. He was third on the team in scoring this past season, averaging 10.0 points and 2.7 assists per game.

UCLA will renovate Pauley Pavilion, starting in February 2010, to create a more impressive glass entrance, upgrade the men’s and women’s locker rooms, and add more than 1,000 seats to the stadium to raise capacity to 14,000. The university plans to complete construction in fall 2012 and will force the basketball teams to find another home for the 2011-12 games.

Washington State has released the financial details of new coach Ken Bone’s contract. Bone will get a seven-year contract that will pay him at least $650,000 per year.

Duquesne junior guard Jason Duty has earned a scholarship with the Dukes after playing as a walk-on for the past three seasons. He started 49 games during those three seasons and averaged 7.4 points per game.

Wake Forest coach Dino Gaudio has hired Rusty LaRue as an assistant coach to replace Pat Kelsey, who left Winston-Salem to work as an assistant at Xavier.

Duquesne freshmen Shawntez Patterson and Aleksandar Milovic announced that they will leave the Dukes to transfer to another school. They combined for a total of two points and five rebounds in 45 minutes of action in 13 games.

Utah has signed coach Jim Boylen to a new five-year contract that will pay Boylen $850,000 a year. In two seasons with the Utes, Boylen has led the team to a 42-25 record.
