College basketball finally didn’t have to compete with football, and it was quite a day of games. But the Pirates may have lost a star for a bit, and rivalry game’s future seems uncertain.

Merrimack’s transition has seen some early success
Merrimack is new to Division I, but thus far the home games have been rare while the wins have not. The team is learning about the new level of play and adjusting well, and there is hope for further growth as they get accustomed to the new level.
