Memphis officials attended a hearing that the NCAA Infractions Committee held to discuss reported violations and the academic record of a former player, believed to be Derrick Rose. School officials reiterated their stance that the team should not vacate any of the 38 wins from the 2007-08 season.

The Fighting Camels have found an assistant coach in 32-year-old Marlon Sears, a former college standout who played overseas for three seasons before starting his coaching career in 2002.

New Arizona coach Sean Miller has hired Jamall Walker as director of basketball operations and Ryan Reynolds as an administrative assistant.

Colorado State coach Tim Miles has hired Randy Baruth to be director of basketball operations. The two worked together at North Dakota State from 2002 to 2004 when Miles was the Bisons’ coach.

Miami junior forward Dwayne Collins has withdrawn his name from the upcoming NBA Draft and will return to the Hurricanes for his senior year. Collins averaged 10.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Wake Forest sophomore point guard Jeff Teague sprained an MCL during a workout with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Teague averaged 18.8 points, 3.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game.

Seton Hall coach Bobby Gonzalez announced Friday that forward Brandon Walters will leave the team and transfer to another basketball program. Walters played in 41 games during two seasons with the Pirates, including 28 games this past season.

Fairleigh Dicksinson fired coach Tom Green June 4, ending Green’s 26-year tenure. During that time, Green led the team to a 407-351 record, seven seasons with at least 20 wins, four NCAA Tournament appearances and two NIT appearances. However, the Knights finished 7-23 this past season for their third consecutive losing season.

Tennesse-Martin coach Bret Campbell resigned June 4 after a university audit revealed that he deposited more than $20,000 in checks from summer basketball camps to a personal account instead of a university account. Campbell worked at Tennessee-Martin for 10 years and compiled a 125-167 record.

Robert Dozier, a Memphis senior forward who recently graduated, joined the Tigers in 2005 despite a tainted academic history that led Georgia to deny him admission.
