The old guard isn’t going quietly or easily this season, as is often the case, and that shows up in a few places. Plus one team that didn’t play well in non-conference is playing much better, while home teams win out west as a talented young player is suspended.
A busy day saw a few great games that were expected to be just that, including one out west that tells us who still rules that conference. Plus a Blue Devil was seeing double, a key player is lost for the season in the Big 12, and a few officials earn a suspension.
One of the busiest days of the year had a lot of games whose results are noteworthy, and we take a look at many of those games here.
A light night of college basketball was full of close games, with none better or bigger than the only one with a late tip. Plus close ones in the MAAC include road wins, weather postpones an SEC tilt, and a former Michigan State mentor passes on.
Two of the nation’s longest winning streaks stayed alive Thursday night. One is held by Michigan, but few may know another belongs to Hofstra. Plus, Wofford dominates SoCon showdown, and many teams went overtime on the night too.
