Presenting our annual list of what we simply call our list of teams to keep an eye on coming into the season. Some fall in the category of up-and-coming teams or sleeper picks. Some are powers. Some are just teams we enjoy watching. In most cases, we just think these are teams you’re going to be hearing from before the end of this year.

It’s time for another season of college basketball, and right now, there’s a cloud hanging over the sport that calls for a bit of perspective as we gear up.
With two stars and their coach returning, UT Arlington should keep winning
UT Arlington has their two best players back, which is a great start, but they also have their coach back. With that, the Mavericks should be in a good position to continue their winning ways of late.
Rhode Island finally broke through and should do so again
After some close calls, Rhode Island finally broke through to reach the NCAA Tournament last season. This time around, they should at least get that far once again after contending for the Atlantic 10 crown.
