Friday was not a good day for the sport, and it had nothing to do with the limited on-court action. Plus one mid-major team remains undefeated in their conference, three teams are bunched up in another, and a coach is staying in an old home area for a little longer.

Saturday included 14 ranked teams in action, including a trio of games matching two ranked squads. Three ranked teams were knocked off by unranked, and three more very nearly were. Number One went down. In the end, though, the biggest storyline were the undefeated teams. Specifically, the day started with three. By the end there were none.

The first three days of the college basketball season have been largely uneventful, not surprising when schedules are littered with endless guarantee games and schools seemingly have little interest in even playing at all so early in November. It doesn’t matter how realistic television sets get, or how much fun it might be to follow social media feeds during a sporting event. There is no substitution for being there. And never will be. With that, we present our ultimate road trip for the season if we could have one.
2016-17 SEC Post-Mortem
The SEC had another underwhelming campaign in 2016-17, until it really counted – the month of March. That may be the first sign that it is turning a corner on the hardwood.
