In our latest podcast, we see non-conference play drawing to a close before long and start with a couple of teams losing their first game of the season. Then we go on to how a few conferences shape up, news of a coach returning to action in an overseas professional league, and look ahead to a busy slate of games.
Buffalo’s quest to remain undefeated during their great early run was stopped when they ran into a buzzsaw. Plus another first loss of the season, another hit to a conference that has taken too many, and two Big 12 teams have opposite results in close games.
There was plenty of drama and a lot of good basketball, and in the end the ACC/Big Ten Challenge ended up even. Plus Big East teams add wins, a Bonnie is finally back in action, and a couple of monster games with teams on opposite ends of the bottom line.
With early season tournaments mostly behind us, we look back on a few of them and some of the big stories from them. Also, some key injuries have occurred, plus the sport continues to be challenged to get attention in November and December.
As the fun of in-season tournaments largely comes to an end, it’s a great day for one particular conference. Plus one team that beat the champs keeps winning, as does a team that has had some potential and might be ready to turn a corner again.
Road teams ruled the games on tap in the Gavitt Tipoff Games, which has quietly become a nice early season event. Plus no surprise with a couple of SEC home wins, a close call with another SEC team’s flight, and one Blackbird had a really nice night to continue a good start.
November is here, and we start the new month with a look at a few more conferences, a Badger who will be out for a while, and a key Hokie suspended with no apparent guarantee of a return.
