Last year was the end of a storied run in the Missouri Valley Conference, and the 2016-17 season was too, as Wichita State concluded a 68-year run in the league.

Even without Wichita State, the Missouri Valley Conference has plenty of schools in it that have proven rather recently very capable of being very, very good. The conference needs some of them to be again.
