North and south, east and west, there were high-level games and fantastic finishes last night. We’ve still got more than a month yet until we get to March-including a Leap Year day-but it felt like a snapshot from the greatest basketball month of the year.
The easy thing to do after the College of Charleston’s resounding win over LSU Monday night would be to talk about all that’s wrong with the Tigers. With that in mind, we’ll focus first on just what the Cougars are doing right.
The CAA had an interesting off-season, though not with the usual activity that tends to occur. A big change is ahead for the conference as well.
Elon had a tough first year in the CAA and then watched the Rookie of the Year transfer. All is not lost for the Phoenix, however, between returning and new talent.
The CAA was not only as competitive as ever in 2014-15, but also quite successful, with the most postseason teams in several years.
Elon had to face a lot of adversity in its first season in the CAA. Through it all, it was a family atmosphere that got them through and helped them finally win a few more games late in the season.
As another school joins the CAA to make ten teams, there’s one relatively clear favorite to win it all and a number of teams that could likewise come out on top when it’s all said and done.
Elon joins the CAA this season and will have a largely new look with three key starters gone, though they have two good guards back to build around
The Southern Conference has had many membership changes in its history, and the latest round is hitting the conference hard.
