Sad news was received by the college basketball world Tuesday as former Butler center Andrew Smith passed away after a two-year battle with cancer. He was 25 years old.

The Missouri Valley Conference continues to claw out a spot just outside the top tier conferences in college basketball, and it did so again in 2014-15 with a noticeably improved product.

Brad Stevens and Shaka Smart once seemed they might be long-tenured at their schools when both were consistently spurning numerous job offers despite repeated opportunities to move on to bigger (paying) things. A couple years later, though, both are gone now to new challenges.
