Larry Brown won’t be the head coach at SMU forever. As such, it’s a good thing he has already turned the program into one that can get better players and possibly win championships.

A busier Friday night than usual featured a head-scratcher in Miami. It was also a good night for the Pac-12 to close it out, while SEC teams got a couple of wins and SMU will get some much-needed help.
Mudiay’s sudden departure hurts SMU, but all is not lost
Emmanuel Mudiay’s decision to head overseas next season is likely not part of a trend, but a blow to SMU just as they look poised to become an NCAA Tournament team. Still, there is plenty of hope for the Mustangs even if their ceiling is lower.
Strong second half sends SMU to NIT final
SMU played a much better second half against Clemson in the NIT semifinals, which propelled them into the championship game against Minnesota.
