Rhode Island continues to grow and now has some wins to show for their efforts. That will only help as they quietly try to contend in a suddenly more interesting Atlantic 10 race.

Rhode Island controlled Tuesday night’s game against VCU, but couldn’t finish it and took a tough loss. Their improvement is evident, though, and they are keeping perspective on that in trying to keep improving.

There were undoubtedly those who thought the Atlantic 10 peaked in 2012-13, especially with important programs departing. They were proven wrong in a historic 2013-14 season for the conference.

Rhode Island is dealing with some growing pains right now, as the Rams are better off than a year ago but still have a ways to go. This was something that could be foreseen before the season given all the roster turnover.
