The Morning Dish – Tuesday, March 17, 2015
Officially, the NCAA Tournament begins Tuesday night with a pair of games, part of the “First Four” as it is known. Manhattan and Hampton square off first in a tussle between two 16 seeds, followed by Mississippi and BYU in a tilt of 11 seeds. Maui is always a highlight of November and Thanksgiving week, dating back to its emergence in the late 1980s, and the tourney opened yesterday with quarterfinals. The best game of the four was the last one, as old WAC and Mountain West rivals San Diego State and BYU went at it good deep into the night for us on the mainland.
2013-14 WCC Post-Mortem
The West Coast Conference had a nice year in 2013-14, to be sure. For a time, though, it looked like it would be even more than that.
Globetrotters’ Basketball Soul Outshines Rash of Rough News
There has been plenty of bad news around the college basketball nation this week. But the Harlem Globetrotters can show everyone a thing or two about having fun and enjoying the game for what it is.
