In a Big East opener, a team that was expected to be pretty good was just that down the stretch to get a key road win. Plus a tough team to figure out down south, road teams are winning early in one conference, and a few other notable results include a milestone win.

Marquette got all they could handle for a while, before their best player took over and got some help along the way. Plus one guy comes through twice in a double overtime game, a few other results of note, and a program goes on probation.

There were a few games of interest on Friday night, especially one that opened a new arena and for a while looked like history might repeat itself before a dramatic ending. Plus early conference games, a rivalry renewed in Rhode Island goes to the home team, and the Spartans take another hit on the perimeter.

2018-19 Big 12 Post-Mortem
For the first time in 15 years, the Big 12 champion was not Kansas. The league was once again atop conference rankings, though, led by a program whose rise the past couple years very nearly resulted in a national title.
